Thank you for sharing yourself so openly with us this week, and for your gentle and enlightening introduction to meditation. It has been an experience we will remember and treasure always.

At DevaTree Place I was welcomed home, and felt it from the moment I arrived. Being held in the nourishment of truth, love, magical forests, mountains and the ocean was so peaceful for me. I can’t thank you enough for my time here. It surpassed my wildest dreams of what it’s like to be away from home and to be loved and cared for.

I’ve been blessed to have Tamika as my mediation teacher and to attend her amazing retreats. If you have the chance to work with her, it will open up your world. She has changed my life in the best ways! She is one of the most beautiful souls I know. I love you Tamika Schilbe—thank you for sharing yourself with this world.
DevaTree Place held space for me to go inward and let the mountain winds carry away my worries, find peace in the forest, and hope in the ocean. Thank you for all the love, support, healing, deep connections, laughter, and showing me the magic and energy of Salt Spring Island.

From the breathtaking scenery of Salt Spring Island, to morning walks in the enchanted, evergreen forests, to sipping tea on the deck, to kitchen table chats, Tamika welcomed me into her home as family–with open arms and heart. Her deep curiosity into the “hows” and “whys” peeked my own curiosity, guiding me closer to finding and speaking my own truth.
Tamika is quite honestly one of the most loving, gentle, bravest souls I have ever met. Her compassion for all life has forever changed the way I walk on this earth. I am stronger, braver, more compassionate, more grateful, and more loving. I am more honest with the world–and more importantly with myself. Thank you Tamika for sharing your home and your most radiant light with me, and with the world.
When I think of staying with Tamika, I think…magical, peaceful, rejuvenating, good for the soul, calming, filling my cup back up. When visiting Salt Spring Island for the first time, I had no idea what to expect. I knew it would be wonderful but I had no idea just how wonderful it would be. It was the first time that I had been alone away from my husband and kids at the same time, for 12 years–away from the busyness of my to do list, away from the sounds, smells of living in a city, away from the daily stresses of life.
Tamika welcomed me into her home with open arms. The scenery was beautiful, quiet and a true oasis. The hiking trails were abundant, easy to access from Tamika’s home, all well marked and easy to follow, with all different types of terrain and levels of difficulty. To me, it was like being on my own special retreat; where I cleansed, drank copious amounts of lovely teas, read, hiked and enjoyed being in nature. I can’t wait to go back!!!
Welcome, Connection, Safety and Witness on Salt Spring Island
I was privileged to be welcomed by wise and playful Tamika in her magical home on the hill. For me, the setting offered a rich opportunity to witness the beauty of the trees, the ancient bones and stones of the earth, the majestic sea and sky, and to delight in seeing some of the creatures who call Salt Spring home. Encountering each other in the safety of her kitchen, we read cards, laughed a lot, and shared with each other the challenges of finding equilibrium in the exigencies of living fully. Tamika listens, probes and validates-a gifted counsellor and friend.
Thank you for opening your home and your heart to us. You made us feel welcome from the first moment. We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent on Salt Spring. Thank you for all the little things, kind words, laughter, and “moan-worthy” food. It was a beautiful experience for both of us.
